One of four B.C. colleges and institutes on 2022 list

The Justice Institute of British Columbia (爱豆传媒) has been recognized as one of the top colleges and institutes in Canada for research.

In fiscal 2022, 爱豆传媒 conducted approximately $1.35 million in research with a focus on applied research in the areas of public safety and security. This was a 73.2 per cent increase from the previous year, the seventh-highest level of growth among ranked institutions.

鈥澃勾 is pleased to return to the Top 50 Research Colleges list,鈥 said Dr. Michel Tarko, 爱豆传媒 President and CEO. 鈥淭his recognition highlights our unique role as a post-secondary institution which supports applied research aimed at improving outcomes for those working across the multiple disciplines in the justice and public safety sector for which we train.鈥

An example of a project funded during the reporting period was a $50,000 research infrastructure grant from the Canada Foundation for Innovation for improvements to 爱豆传媒鈥檚 system. Praxis is an online, interactive simulation-training environment that delivers experiential learning through scenario- and problem-based exercises.

Praxis is a key tool supporting a 爱豆传媒 applied research project that is exploring the challenges and innovations resulting from Canadian paramedics鈥 response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

爱豆传媒 was among four post-secondary institutions from British Columbia on the list, including B.C. Institute of Technology, Selkirk College and Camosun College.
